Our story

Seven Skies was founded by Nathan Wedding. Nathan began his career as a university academic, teaching environmental philosophy and holding Doctorate of Philosophy candidature at some of Australia's leading universities. A seasoned adventurer, he swapped his academic life for a career as a professional sea kayak guide, leading expeditions in the Arctic Circle, Norwegian Fjords and Lofoten Islands, Fiji's Yasawa Islands, and the remote World Heritage Wilderness Area in Tasmania, Australia.

Nathan is joined at Seven Skies by Clare Turner. Clare spent over 12 years practising as a corporate litigation lawyer for one of Australia's leading law firms before joining Seven Skies. With a passion for luxury travel, Clare has spent years seeking out the best hotel and dining experiences throughout the world.

The Seven Skies vision is to provide luxury adventure travel for intimate groups, blending extraordinary natural, cultural, and adventure experiences with the ultimate in luxury accommodation, delicious cuisine, and personalised service.

With this vision in mind along with an appreciation for the finer things in life, Nathan and Clare have travelled extensively around the globe seeking out great destinations, sourcing luxurious and stylish places to stay, and discovering the best regional cuisine on offer.

The name Seven Skies originated from the idea of travelling to all seven continents – and seeing the seven skies. It embodies our philosophy of actively exploring the world in style and being inspired by the experience.

The Seven Skies experience

All of our luxury adventures are professionally led by Seven Skies' founder Nathan Wedding. Our commitment to personalised service means that Nathan will be your direct point of contact from your first inquiry through to your return home.

Our luxury adventures travel to unique destinations rich in natural beauty, history, and culture. We use local guides who have a comprehensive understanding of regional conditions and customs. Travelling in small groups by kayak, bicycle, and on foot enables the group to fully experience each destination while also preserving the environment and cultures encountered along the way.

Luxury adventure

We also insist on a serious dose of luxury to complement our adventures, with luxury accommodation and the best local cuisine both an integral part of the Seven Skies experience. After a day of extraordinary experiences, you deserve to unwind and relax in style, staying in luxury accommodation for most nights of your adventure. Delicious cuisine completes the experience, as we dine in restaurants that highlight local specialties, are widely renowned, or are hidden gems that we have discovered ourselves.
